Saudi Arabia arrests a man who helped an Israeli journalist reach Mecca

In Saudi Arabia, police arrested a local citizen who helped an Israeli journalist enter Mecca.

According to Al-Jazeera, journalist Gil Tamari, who works for one of the Israeli TV channels, entered Mecca despite the prohibition of non-Muslims from entering the city.

The incident was revealed after Tamari posted a 10-minute video of his trip. In the video he posted, a man visits Mount Arafat where Muslim pilgrims gather to pray during the Hajj.

After a negative public reaction to the journalist’s entry into the holy Islamic city, the Mecca police arrested a Saudi who had helped him enter the city. It is said that the man did not know the religion and origin of Tamari.

In addition, the journalist himself stated that his trip was not intended to offend the feelings of believers. According to him, he wanted to show people “a very important place for our Muslim brothers and sisters.”
