Iran refuses to return IAEA cameras to nuclear facilities

The Iranian authorities do not intend to operate the IAEA cameras located in Iran’s nuclear infrastructure facilities, until Tehran achieves the restoration of the nuclear agreement from Western countries. This was announced by the representative of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami. The Jerusalem Post quoted his words.

The representative of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, said: These cameras are linked to the nuclear agreement, and if the Westerners return to this agreement and we are sure that they (the cameras) will not cause any harm, we will decide on these cameras.

A number of countries are currently trying to revive the nuclear deal with Iran after former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program (JCPOA).

The day before, French President Emmanuel Macron, during a telephone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, said that a return to the “nuclear deal” with Iran was still possible – provided a speedy resumption of negotiations.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said in an interview with Israeli TV Channel 12 that the US, as a “last resort”, could use force against Iran if negotiations on a nuclear deal failed.
