UN says more than 5,000 civilians have been killed in Ukraine

According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, between February 24 and July 24, 5,237 civilians were killed in Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that 2019, men, 1,379 women, 143 girls and 164 boys became victims of hostilities. 41 children and 1,491 adults have also died, and there is no information on their gender yet.

7,035 people were infected, including 1,384 men, 1,017 women, 150 girls, and 215 boys. The gender of 195 juveniles and 4,074 adults is not yet known.

According to the United Nations, most civilians died on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. In the territory controlled by Kyiv, 2,848 people became victims of hostilities, 2,820 people were injured.

On the territory under the control of the armed forces of Russia the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, 241 people died, 940 were injured.

Civilians were also killed and wounded in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv, Nikolaev, Odessa, Sumy, Zaporozhye, Dnipropetrovsk regions, Poltava, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr.
