NASA publishes rare images of storms on Jupiter

NASA has released images of powerful storms around Jupiter’s north pole. The images were taken by NASA’s Juno spacecraft as it approached the giant planet in early July.

While observing the phenomenon, the scientists found that the eddies are more than 50 kilometers deep and about 100 kilometers wide. Scientists say that identifying the causes of the strange whirlpools will play an important role in the further study of Jupiter.

“Understanding how they form is key to understanding Jupiter’s atmosphere and cloud hydrodynamics, which influence the formation of other features on the planet,” NASA said.

Earlier, scientists announced that the Earth began to move faster, setting a record for the speed of rotation. According to experts, the planet rotates on its axis 1.59 milliseconds faster than usual.
