An explosion sounded west of the city of Kabul, and there were dead and wounded, according to what was reported by news agencies, quoting a source.

“The explosion occurred in the Puli-Sukta district of Kabul city… The bodies of the dead and wounded are being transported to a hospital by ambulances and police cars,” the source said.

According to the former parliamentarian, Alishir Shahir, 12 people were killed and 28 others were injured.

Earlier, Taliban representative Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters that the Afghan authorities had not found the body of Ayman al-Zawahiri, at the site of the US missile attack on the leader of the al-Qaeda group in Kabul.

In addition, the Taliban previously indicated that the movement had no information on the whereabouts of Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Earlier, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said Washington had “visual” evidence of the al-Qaeda leader’s death, but did not have his DNA samples.

In addition, Kirby emphasized that the United States has the right to conduct counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan if necessary.
