The danger of the Eiffel Tower collapsing will remain until 2030
– Rust threatens the structural integrity of the Eiffel Tower, but repairs are unlikely to begin before 2030.
According to the Financial Times, to remove rust from the tower, you need to remove all lead paint from it. It is difficult to do this before 2024, as the newspaper quotes a representative of the authorities of the 7th municipal district in Paris.
The director of the Association for the Exploitation of the Eiffel Tower, Patrick Ruivu, said that it was reported earlier that the condition of the Eiffel Tower does not allow to talk about the danger of its collapse. He added that the defects identified are not critical.
According to him, the tower was “not as well maintained as it is now”. The current 20th structural paint campaign has been running since 2019 and is designed to protect the tower from rust.
