Elysee: Putin agreed to enter the IAEA mission to Zaporozhye

The Elysee Palace reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, agreed to the arrival of the IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant via Ukraine.

According to the Elysee Palace, Putin reconsidered the requirement for a mission of IAEA experts to arrive at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant via Russia and agreed for the experts to arrive via Ukraine.

On August 19, the first phone conversation between Macron and Putin took place since the spring.

The Russian President, in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart, said that the systematic bombing of the territory of the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye by the Ukrainian armed forces raises the risk of a large-scale catastrophe, according to the Russian leader. , could lead to radioactive contamination in large areas.

The Elysee Palace also reported that the French President had discussed with the Russian leader the dispatch of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
