US decides to transfer NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine.

The United States intends to transfer NASAMS portable anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine within two or three months.

“With regard to the delivery of NASAMS, we expect this to be within 2-3 months,” a US Department of Defense spokeswoman said.

NASAMS will be the first Western medium-range air defense system to be sent to Ukraine.

On August 19, the Pentagon announced the United States’ intention to allocate up to $775 million to Ukraine as part of military assistance and to provide ammunition for the HIMARS Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).

The United States will also supply Kyiv with 1,500 anti-tank missiles, HARM anti-radar missiles, and 1,000 Javelin anti-tank missiles.
