Trump: Everyone wants me to run in 2024

Former US President Donald Trump hinted again that he may run for the presidential elections in 2024, stressing – in an interview with an Indian television station that this matter “will make a lot of people happy.”

“Everyone wants me to run,” Trump said, according to excerpts from the interview, which will be broadcast in full by India’s NDTV network late Thursday.

“I will make a decision in the very near future, and I think a lot of people will be very pleased,” he added.

In the interview, Trump, 76, reiterated his earlier claims that the 2020 election, which he lost to incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden, was fraudulent. “There is tremendous evidence,” he said.

The billionaire and former reality TV star faced an intense legal investigation because of his moves to cancel the results of the 2020 presidential election, and about the attack launched by his supporters on the US Capitol building on January 6 last year.

Last month, the FBI raided Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on suspicion of illegally keeping classified documents belonging to the White House.

Last Saturday, during an election rally in Pennsylvania, Trump denounced what he described as a “shameful raid”, denying any wrongdoing, and describing the raid as “one of the most egregious attacks on democracy in the history of our country.”
