The Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Sharkia Governorate launched a free veterinary convoy, in the center and city of Minya al-Qamh, A comprehensive reproductive survey, ultrasound examination and spraying were conducted to combat external parasites. The directorate also launched campaigns on markets selling meat, poultry, fish and their products, where about 48 tons and 48 kg of meat slaughtered outside government slaughterhouses, processed meat, liver, minced poultry and fish unfit for human consumption were seized. The Directorate of Agriculture in Alexandria Governorate implemented a number of extension activities in the Khorshid Agricultural Department, where field visits and inspections of wheat and potato crops were carried out and plants were examined. Vaccination committees were also formed in the villages of the governorate centers and guidance seminars were held to raise awareness of the importance of vaccination in national campaigns and the extent of economic losses due to failure to respond to vaccination and awareness of the importance of livestock insurance, numbering and registration.
