Cripps kicks goal, rocks baby

Blues skipper Patrick Cripps became a dad during the week and after he kicked a team-lifting goal from 50m out, he did a “rock the baby” celebration to acknowledge the birth of Koda Sophie Cripps and his wife Monique this week.

McKay messes up a sitter

Harry McKay has been one of the form forwards in the competition to start 2024 but he just made a meal of an easy goal.

He took a mark in front of the goal square and went to play on but while he ran into the goal square, he turned to check where the defender was and dropped the footy. The Dockers player caught him and a ball up followed.

It’s been a frustrating term for the usually high-scoring Blues.

Banfield too strong

Freo forward Bailey Banfield was one out with second-year flyer Ollie Hollands and he was too strong winning a free kick and then kicking the goal.

Sharp work from the Dockers to isolate such a dangerous small forward.

Emmett stands up for Freo

Tom Emmett continues to be a dangerous pressure forward for the Dockers and he has stepped up early taking the ball from a pack and snapping his club’s first goal of the day.

Cerra puts Blues on the board

The Blues pressured the Dockers and kept the ball in their forward half, that led to a turnover and Adam Cerra kicked the opening goal.

The Dockers have not converted their chances early and now they are behind.
