Abu Dhabi, April 17 / WAM / Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank denied the existence of negotiations related to purchasing a stake in the Indonesian Sharia Bank.
The bank stated, in a statement today: We categorically deny this news and confirm that there are no talks or negotiations related to this issue.
Press reports stated that Abu Dhabi Islamic was in talks to buy a minority stake worth about $1.1 billion in the Indonesian Sharia Bank, the largest Islamic bank there, with the aim of benefiting from a rapidly growing market for such services in Southeast Asia.
