Germany recalled its ambassador from Russia a day before Putin’s inauguration

The German Foreign Ministry recalled Ambassador to Russia Alexander Graf Lambsdorff to Berlin for consultations after Moscow was accused of hacker attacks. The ambassador will stay in Germany for a week and will miss the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Berlin accused Russia of attacks on the accounts of SPD party members on May 3. German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock said Moscow’s actions were “unacceptable and will not remain without consequences.” Moscow denies involvement.

The inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for May 7 in Moscow. Representatives of the European Union countries received invitations to the event. Open refused from the EU countries only the Baltic countries and Czechand besides them Great Britain and Canada.
