The UAE billiards team participates in West Asian, Arab and international championships

Dubai, May 13 / WAM / The top three finishers in the billiards classification tournament qualified to join the UAE men’s billiards national team squad participating in the West Asian Championships, the Arab Federation Cup in Bahrain, and the World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

The billiards classification tournament held by the Game Federation concluded its competitions yesterday, Sunday, and witnessed the victory of Mahmoud Sharif in first place, Talal Al Balushi in second place, and Abdullah Juma in third place.

Issa Al Balushi, coach of the UAE billiards national team, explained that the qualifiers, which were held in the open system and witnessed the participation of a large number of players, qualified for the two decisive rounds, including the best 8 players in the country.
He said: “These results resulted in the formation of the team that will participate in the West Asian Championship in Bahrain during the period from May 24 to next June 1, with the top three players in the classification tournament, in the 9-ball and 10-ball singles competitions, and the men’s 9-ball doubles competitions, in addition to The players: Abdullah Al Hammadi and Salem Al Nuaimi in the junior competitions.”
He added: “In the Arab Federation Cup tournament, which Bahrain is also hosting during the period from 2 to 8 next June, 4 players, Mahmoud Sharif, Abdullah Juma, Khaled Al-Zarouni, and Abdul Salam Al-Balushi, will participate in the individual 9- and 10-ball competitions, and the 10-ball team competitions.”
He confirmed that the World Billiards Championship, which will be hosted by the Saudi capital, Riyadh, from June 3 to 6, will involve only one player, Talal Al Balushi, in the individual 9-ball competitions.
