Enormous blaze engulfs inner-city timber boarding house as emergency crews rush to evacuate residents

A massive blaze has ripped apart a timber boarding house as firefighters race to extinguish it.

Emergency services were called to the home on Walton St in Dutton Park, just south of Brisbane’s CBD, at 2:50pm on Tuesday to find it ablaze.

Images of the shocking scene shows a huge column of smoke reaching into the sky while paramedics were seen treating one woman with an oxygen mask.

The property was severely damaged by the blaze, which was still yet to be declared safe by emergency services as of 3:45pm.

An exclusion zone has been set up by police.

More to come.
