Dubai, May 15 / WAM / A German official estimated the share of his country’s companies in airport projects and work in the Middle East region at about 25 to 30%.
Kai Barenfinger, President of the German Airport Equipment Industry Association and responsible for the participating German pavilion, said in his statements at the Airport Show in Dubai.
26 German exhibitors and companies are participating in the exhibition, seeking to expand their presence in the UAE and regional markets, including 15 companies participating for the first time.
He said that the participating German companies have been operating in the Middle East and the UAE market for decades, pointing out that many of them contributed to the construction and development of the current Dubai International Airport, and stressed their endeavor to benefit from the huge opportunities contained within Al Maktoum Airport.
Barenfinger – who heads an association that includes more than 85 companies operating in the sector – noted that the 26 companies work in various fields, including supplying baggage handling systems, innovation, ground handling, and furniture… He stressed that the airport exhibition in its current version is gaining great momentum compared to previous editions. It comes shortly after the announcement of plans to build the largest airport building in the world, “Al Maktoum Airport.”
