Ministry of Labor: A symposium to raise awareness of the dangers of illegal immigration and the Ministry’s role in confronting it in Sohag

The Labor Directorate in Sohag Governorate organized a symposium to raise awareness of the dangers of illegal immigration, their causes, and how to confront them, in cooperation with the Sohag Youth Union, and the Sohag Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency branch, in the training hall of the Directorate’s Sohag Vocational Training Center, under the patronage of the Minister of Labor, Hassan Shehata. Dr. Hisham Abu Zaid, Director of the Labor Directorate in Sohag, explained that these efforts come in light of implementing the directives of the Minister of Labor, Hassan Shehata, to intensify awareness seminars on the dangers of illegal immigration. Considering it a threat to the lives of citizens who immigrate illegally, and what the Egyptian state and its government agencies are offering to confront this phenomenon and its causes.

 

He added that reference was made to the free vocational training programs provided by the directorate in The three fixed training centers located in Sohag, Al-Kawthar, and Tahta, the mobile training units located in Gerga on the professions of sewing, detailing, plumbing, and electricity, and the mobile training unit for refrigeration, air conditioning, and the use of modern media in refrigeration, which the Directorate received on Labor Day during Minister Hassan Shehata’s launch of the new training units, which will begin. Training on it during the coming days.

 

He pointed out that the events also included a lecture presented by Ahmed Hashem, President of the Sohag Youth Union, in which he touched on the Union’s role in raising awareness of issues that concern young people, including immigration.

 

 

All inquiries from the audience were also heard, which included the role of the directorate in providing job opportunities for young people of both sexes, issuing certificates measuring skill level and a license to practice the profession as it is an approved certificate that allows changing the profession in the national ID card and all papers and qualifies for the internal and external labor market, and how to submit complaints related to labor relations. Between workers and business owners, the application of the minimum wage, and compliance with occupational safety and health procedures in establishments, were also discussed. Private training centers and how to obtain a license to practice training activity and the vocational project 2030 were also discussed.
