Al-Furqan Battalion Commander Jaber Aziz Killed in Gaza Strip

On Sunday, the IDF struck a building where Hamas terrorist Jaber Aziz was hiding. In recent years, he commanded the Al-Furqan Battalion. This the publication reported The Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli strike also killed several other terrorists who were in a Hamas command and control center located in the Hassan Salameh and Nasser schools in Gaza City, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday evening.

The militant radical group Hamas is recognized as a terrorist group by the US and the EU.

Jaber Aziz has held a command position in the Al-Furqan Battalion since 2020, previously serving as the battalion’s deputy commander. Before that, he rose through the ranks as deputy commander of the Zeitoun Battalion and then commander of the same battalion.

Aziz played a significant role in planning the October 7 attack on Israel and supervised the preparation and training of the Al-Furqan Battalion. He is in the border communities of Gaza in the lead-up to the attack on Israel.

How reports The Jerusalem Post, Aziz has led numerous terrorist strikes and attacks against the IDF and other attacks on Israeli targets.

The elimination of the commander of the Al-Furqan battalion significantly reduces the combat capability of the Hamas terrorist organization, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
