Lebanese Hezbollah announced on Monday the killing of the leader of the Radwan Unit, Ali Jamal al-Din Jawad, in an Israeli raid off the southern border of Lebanon, bringing the death toll to 394 since October 8, 2023.
"Hezbollah" mourned in a statement "Ali Jamal al-Din Jawad, born in 1987, from the town of Zebdine in southern Lebanon, who was martyred on the road to Jerusalem", without further details.
Earlier on Monday, the party mourned "Ali Ghaleb Shaqir, born in 1996, from the town of Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon".
Thus, the death toll of "Hezbollah" has risen to 394 as a result of the confrontations with the Israeli army for about 10 months.
In turn, the Israeli army said in a statement via the "X" platform: “Earlier on Monday evening, an air force drone attacked the Abaa area (Nabatiyeh district), killing Ali Jamal al-Din Jawad, who was serving as a commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force.” He considered that “this targeting greatly affects Hezbollah’s ability to promote and carry out attacks from southern Lebanon towards the Israeli home front on the northern border.” He added that his warplanes “bombed a military structure and infrastructure for Hezbollah in the Kfar Kila area (Marjeyoun district) in southern Lebanon.” Since October 8, 2023, Hezbollah has been exchanging daily shelling with the Israeli army across the “Blue Line” separating the two sides, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, most of them on the Lebanese side. Hezbollah is making the cessation of shelling conditional on Israel ending a war it has been waging on the Gaza Strip since October 7; Which left more than 131 thousand Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10 thousand missing.
