Opening new horizons of cooperation between the Writers’ Union Syndicate and the Ministry of Culture
Dr. Ahmed Heno, Minister of Culture, received today the great poet and thinker Dr. Alaa Abdel Hadi, Secretary General of the Arab Writers Union and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, who extended his sincere congratulations to the Minister of Culture on the political leadership’s confidence in him.
The Minister of Culture welcomed Dr. Alaa Abdel Hadi, stressing the opening of new horizons of cooperation between the Writers Union, which includes five thousand thinkers, critics, creators, translators, novelists and poets, and the General Union of Arab Writers, which Egypt is honored to chair and which includes eighteen Arab unions, with the Ministry of Culture during the coming period.
The two stressed that today’s meeting is a real turning point for joint and integrated cooperation between the Ministry and civil society organizations, headed by the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, in support of a strong and effective influence for Egyptian culture and highlighting its presence locally and internationally, for the beginning of a new phase and a correct vision for cooperation between the Ministry’s institutions and community institutions Civil, and unions in particular.
Dr. Alaa added that this cooperation is definitely in the interest of Egyptian culture, especially after the presence of a young, highly cultured personality, worthy of leading the Ministry of Culture during this period that requires building bridges of cooperation between the Egyptian Writers Union Syndicate and the General Union of Arab Writers and Authors with all the Ministry’s institutions.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Heno, Minister of Culture, was briefed on the cultural activities and events carried out by the departments and committees within the General Union of the Egyptian Writers Union. The Minister expressed his willingness to provide all support and open horizons for cooperation between the Ministry, the General Union of Arab Writers and Authors, and the Egyptian Writers Union in all cultural and literary fields.
The meeting lasted for more than two hours of fruitful dialogue.
The meeting was attended by Counselor Abdel Fattah Al-Kashef, Vice President of the State Council and Legal Advisor to the Syndicate,
Dr. Ahmed Bahi, Head of the Egyptian General Book Authority, and journalist Ashraf Abu Al-Rish, Media Advisor to the Syndicate.
