Human Rights in Homeland Protectors: Supporting the State’s Efforts to Promote Human Rights

The Homeland Defenders Party, headed by Lieutenant General Galal Al-Hariri, hosted Ambassador Moushira Khattab, Head of the National Council for Human Rights and the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, through the cultural salon held by the party in the conference hall in Nasr City on the sidelines of the first Capital Book Fair organized by the party.

Dr. Rania Abu Al-Khair, Secretary of the Central Human Rights Secretariat of the party, began the meeting by welcoming Ambassador Moushira Khattab, the council members Abdel Gawad Ahmed and Dina Khalil, and the leaders of the Homeland Defenders Party, who played a prominent role in holding this event.

She said that this symposium comes within the framework of the party’s interest in spreading human rights values ​​through all the community programs and activities it carries out in cooperation with all concerned parties.

She stressed that Egypt has made great strides in the human rights file during this decade, the most important of which is launching the National Strategy for Human Rights and establishing a number of national mechanisms to promote human rights.

She pointed out that the Human Rights Committee of the Homeland Defenders Party has held several activities to raise the efficiency and capabilities of party members in this file. Yes, for the party representatives to support the state’s efforts in the human rights file.

For her part, Ambassador Moushira Khattab, Head of the National Council for Human Rights and the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, expressed her deep thanks to the Homeland Defenders Party, headed by Lieutenant General Galal Al-Haridi, Head of the Party, and his role and interest in human rights issues through the Central Committee for Human Rights in the Party, and that holding this event is evidence of the party’s interest in spreading culture in general and the culture of human rights in particular, and I extend my greetings and appreciation to them.

Moushira Khattab stressed that respecting and implementing human rights reflects the extent of society’s progress and advancement. We must all be keen on these rights and call for their implementation, as human rights cannot be bought, acquired or inherited, they belong to people because they are human beings, therefore; they are inherent in every individual and are enjoyed by all people regardless of color, gender, religion, opinion or origin. They cannot be taken away, because they are fixed and inalienable rights.

Khattab added that the new republic is a republic of human rights because of the rights it enjoys for its citizens without discrimination, and this is what President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, is keen on in all his occasions. Egypt has a constitution that is higher than the values ​​of human rights, and the Egyptian constitution has more than 40 articles that talk about rights. In the end, Egypt was one of the first countries to participate in and draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
