The Chamber of Engineering Industries forms a founding council to deepen and develop the stamping industry in Egypt
The Engineering Industries Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries held a meeting today with the aim of localizing and developing the stamp industry in Egypt and announcing the members of the founding council of the stamp industry sector.
Mohamed El Mohandes, head of the Engineering Industries Chamber, said that the chamber and its board of directors aim to deepen the local industry and provide the needs and requirements of production from the local market and reduce the import bill.
He pointed out the importance of direct communication between manufacturers, research centers, universities and donor agencies and preparing programs. Training graduates us with high-quality and efficient workers needed by this industry. Therefore, the Chamber has taken it upon itself to establish a special sector for the stamp industry. Engineer Naji Youssef, Head of the Numbers and Machinery Division at the Chamber, has been assigned to head this sector.
Engineer Abdul Sadiq Ahmed, Technical Affairs Advisor at the Engineering Industries Chamber, confirmed that the Chamber is working hard to achieve integration between its members, localize the industry, identify the needs of engineering industries and the challenges they face and work to solve them.
He pointed out that the stamp industry of various types is very important for many industries. Therefore, the Chamber has formed a council for this sector that includes the private and government sectors, research centers and universities under one umbrella to serve this industry.
He explained Engineer Naji Youssef, Head of Machinery and Equipment Industry Division and Head of Stamps Sector, said that today is a founding meeting for the Stamps Sector and the selection of an executive council aimed at enhancing cooperation between us, promoting scientific research, developing the sector’s cadres, and providing highly skilled workers. Naji Youssef stressed the importance of cooperation between the private and public sectors represented in universities, research centers, laws, and speaking through the Engineering Chamber. In order to enhance competitiveness, we must rely on the science and components we have and identify our strengths and weaknesses.
He pointed out that the council members, 9 members, have been selected and the structure of the council will be established, which represents 4 entities: stamp manufacturers, scientific and academic research, donors, and the entity using the stamps to be represented within the council, as well as suppliers of servers, machines, and services.
Nagi Youssef said that we have more than 50 stamp factories and we must expand, cooperate, and promote this industry and its importance to reduce the import bill and deepen local manufacturing.
Engineer Tamer El Shafei, Head of the Feeder Industries Division for the Automotive Industry, explained that we have a great need for stamps of all kinds, as well as design forms, and we must communicate with universities for this purpose.
Engineer Salah El Arabi, a member of the Home Appliances Division, added that the stamp industry has many challenges in terms of import quantities and types, and interest in technical, technological, engineering, and post-bachelor’s education to localize this industry, and we must provide cadres Qualified to reduce the cost and length of delivery periods, and we have a major problem in technical education, and the state is currently seeking to solve it through advanced technology schools.
Salah Al-Arabi pointed out the existence of a research center to learn about everything new globally and continuous training for everything new and foreign expertise in this industry, and it was agreed to include the specialization of stamp manufacturing in technological universities starting from the new academic year.
Dr. Bahaa Zaghloul, representative of the Japanese donor for the stamp industry and a specialized professor at the Institute of Metals, noted and confirmed that 4,700 Egyptian engineers have been trained in Japan and Egypt, and we have communicated with the donor in Japan, indicating that there is a great welcome from the donor agencies.
At the end of the meeting, the Chamber announced the formation of the founding council for the stamp industry sector, headed by Engineer Naji Youssef, and the membership of Engineer Abdel Sadek Ahmed, the Chamber’s technical advisor, Rania Al-Nady, Mohamed El-Gamal, Mohamed Refaat, Mohamed Amin, Moheb Nasrallah, Nassar Ibrahim, and Hamed Makkawi.
