Thailand expresses gratitude to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif for its good care of its students
During his reception of the Chargé d’Affaires of the Thai Embassy, Thanapordi Juthong, today, Monday, the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and warm welcome he received from King Vajiralongkorn, King of Thailand, and his wife Queen Suthida, and all the official and popular institutions that His Eminence visited during his visit to the Kingdom of Thailand as part of an external tour of Southeast Asia, stressing that this visit will have a significant impact in enhancing cooperation between Thailand and Al-Azhar.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Thai Embassy affirmed his country’s gratitude for the great efforts made by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to sponsor more than 2,800 Thai male and female students studying there, and to allocate 160 scholarships for the children of Muslims in Thailand, noting that the visit of His Eminence the Grand Imam to Thailand had a great positive impact and was welcomed by the Kingdom and the Thai people, and contributed to opening new horizons for cooperation with Al-Azhar on various educational and advocacy levels.
