The third phase of the tests of the Center for the Preparation and Development of Quran Teachers in Sohag has begun
Under the generous patronage of the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the third phase of the tests for memorizers in the recitation halls of Al-Azhar Corridor began today in Sohag, where 191 memorizers are taking the tests from the workers in the Al-Azhar Corridor in the governorates of Sohag, Fena and Assiut, which will continue for two days at the examination headquarters in Sohag Governorate.
In a previous context, Dr. Hani Odeh, Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque, explained that the recitation halls for memorizers in the Al-Azhar Corridor are held in 17 governorates across the republic, and aim to review the entire Holy Quran, memorize and study the texts of Tajweed and master performance, to raise their academic level, over a period of four months, which is the duration of one session.
Dr. Abdel Moneim Fouad, General Supervisor of Scientific Activities of the Al-Azhar Corridor at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque, said that the tests are conducted in two stages, during which 1,277 memorizers are tested in two locations; the first location is at Al-Azhar Mosque, and includes the governorates of Cairo – Giza – Sharqia – Gharbia – Qalyubia – Beni Suef – Fayoum – Minya – Dakahlia – Alexandria – Beheira – Kafr El Sheikh, with a total of 1086 applicants, while the tests are being conducted at the second headquarters in Sohag Governorate, which includes the governorates of Qena, Assiut and Sohag, with a total of 191 applicants from the workers in the Al-Azhar Corridor.
On the sidelines of following up on the tests, the Test Committee headed to participate in the celebration honoring those who completed the memorization of the Holy Quran at the Al-Azhar Corridor branch in Sohag Governorate.
It is worth noting that the Center for the Preparation and Development of Quran Teachers held, over the past year, the first and second stage tests for the memorizers working in the Al-Azhar Corridor in seventeen governorates, and the number of the first batch reached 862 memorizers, while the number of memorizers in the second batch reached 1229, and it is scheduled that 1277 memorizers will take the tests during the stage Third.
These tests come under the directives of the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and with the approval of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Dweini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdel Moneim Fouad, General Supervisor of Scientific Activities of the Al-Azhar Corridor at Al-Azhar Mosque, Dr. Hani Odeh, Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque, Sheikh Ibrahim Halas, Director of the Religious Affairs Department, and Dr. Mustafa Shishi, Director of the Corridor Affairs Department at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. The test committees are also held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hassan Abdel Nabi Iraqi, Deputy of the Holy Qur’an Review Committee.
