The Block fan faves Eliza and Liberty Paschke were apparently turned down for Gogglebox Australia because they were simply too famous.
The down-to-earth sisters were runner-ups on The Block last year, walking away with a cool $1.05 million in profit. Since the show wrapped up they’ve gained a solid following, earning 60k followers on Instagram and launching the podcast Try Before You Die.
A Gogglebox insider has now claimed the duo were hoping to appear on Gogglebox Australia 2025 but Channel 10 producers weren’t keen on the idea.

The source told Daily Mail the sisters were too famous so wouldn’t suit the format.
“The duo would have been fantastic but the show prides itself on having everyday Australians and The Block exposure has really given the girls a temporary celebrity tag, it isn’t the right fit,” the insider said.
“It’s a hard position for the girls to be [in]. They are too famous for Gogglebox Australia but not really famous enough to do [I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!].”
There isn’t a confirmed release date for Gogglebox Australia season 21, but seeing as season 20 is currently playing, it’s likely to hit screens around August 2025.
There is a celebrity edition of Gogglebox Australia with popular presenters Hamish Blake, Julia Morris and the Irwins appearing on the show. However, when you compare their celebrity status – Robert Irwin has six million Instagram followers – to Eliza and Liberty’s, it’s obvious why the sisters haven’t been called up yet.
The latest season of Gogglebox Australia premiered on August 14, 2024, and there were a bunch of familiar faces in the mix.

The cast includes the Dalton family, the Delpechitra family, the no-nonsense married couple Keith and Lee, best friends Anastasia and Faye plus Adam and Symon. I’m pretty sure these main cast members will be back for Gogglebox 2025!
Mia, Lainey and Bree also returned for their second season too. The full cast list is such a treat, and I love seeing such wholesome TV back on our screens.
