Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his happiness today, Wednesday, with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Turkey, stressing his determination to enhance consultations with Egypt, which shares similar positions and goals with his country on many issues.
Erdogan said – in a statement published on his official account on the (X) platform today – that it was agreed with President El-Sisi to hold regular consultations to resolve regional issues, especially the Gaza issue.
He stressed that Egypt and Turkey have a common position on the Palestinian issue, stressing that ending the genocide that has been ongoing for 11 months, establishing a permanent ceasefire as soon as possible, and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid without obstacles remain at the forefront of the two countries’ priorities.
Erdogan said that in addition to Gaza, regional issues were discussed, especially the Eastern Mediterranean, Syria, Libya, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa. African.
He said that during his meeting with President Sisi in Cairo, it was agreed to restructure the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, and today the first meeting of this mechanism was held, and the joint declaration confirmed our will to strengthen our cooperation in all fields, including industry, trade, defense, health, environment and energy.
Erdogan pointed out that Turkey has been among Egypt’s top 5 trading partners for the past 10 years, and is now moving steadily towards the goal of increasing the trade volume to $15 billion in the next five years.
Erdogan expressed his desire to develop cooperation with Egypt in the field of energy, especially in the field of natural gas and energy, and to cooperate more closely from now on.
