Union Party: President Sisi’s visit to Turkey is historic, pushing the course of relations between the two countries to a new stage

Counselor Reda Sakr, head of the Union Party, said that the Egyptian political and diplomatic efforts were able to put Egyptian-Turkish relations back on track, and push them into a new phase of cooperation, crowned by the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Cairo in February of this year, and today President Sisi’s visit to Ankara.

 

"Sakr" added that the mutual visits between the two presidents are a true reflection of the political will of the two countries to start a new phase of cooperation and friendship, based on common interests that aim to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, stressing that the visit strengthens the deep-rooted historical relations between Egypt and the Republic of Turkey.

 

The head of the Union Party explained that Egypt’s relationship with Turkey is of great importance for the stability of the region and facing the major challenges facing the Middle East, and hence the value of this visit comes in the coordination between the two countries and the agreement on many files, most notably the aggression launched by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip, as well as other files that require unifying the visions of the two countries Regarding it.

 

Counselor Reda Saqr noted that President Sisi’s visit to Turkey has a positive impact on the level of economic cooperation between the two countries, through memoranda of cooperation and governmental understanding, and is an opportunity to enhance and attract Turkish investments to Egypt, and work to achieve the two countries’ goals of increasing trade exchange to 15 billion dollars.

 

The head of the Union Party concluded by emphasizing that this diplomatic movement witnessed by Egyptian-Turkish relations during the past period and its culmination with two historic visits by the two presidents, pushes the path of relations between the two countries to a more solid level, and will also work to preserve security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
