The Prophet’s Birthday.. The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa announced the sighting of the crescent moon of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal for the year 1446 AH by the Sharia committees spread across the republic.
The Dar Al-Iftaa stated on its official page on the “Facebook” website that yesterday, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 AD, is the first day of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal for the year 1446 AH.
Officially, the date of the Prophet’s birthday 2024
Accordingly, Monday, September 16, 2024 AD will be the date of the Prophet’s birthday, which corresponds to Rabi’ al-Awwal 12, 1446 AH, after the sighting of the crescent moon of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH was confirmed today, Tuesday, and it was confirmed that the first of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH will be tomorrow, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 AD.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the first of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH
On the occasion of the announcement by the Egyptian Dar al-Ifta that yesterday, Wednesday, is the first of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH, His Eminence Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of the Republic and Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Houses and Authorities in the World, congratulated President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic, and His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and to the Egyptian people and the peoples of the Arab and Islamic worlds on the occasion of the approaching anniversary of the birth of our Master the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, calling on God Almighty to bestow upon Egypt the blessings of security and stability and to protect its land and people from all harm and evil.
It is expected that the Egyptian Cabinet will issue a decision in the coming days regarding the date of the holiday on this occasion, which falls on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Is the holiday carried over?
There will be no need to carry over the holiday that falls on Sunday, September 15, 2024, which will be connected to the weekend, to Thursday, September 19, 2024, because the Prime Minister’s decision is concerned with carrying over official holidays that coincide with the middle of the week only to the Thursday following the occasion for which the holiday is scheduled, so that citizens can obtain a holiday connected to the weekend.
