Adéla’s taken everything she learned from her training and channeled it into a song that’s both catchy and a full of drama — think Marina and The Diamonds meets K-Pop.

What is Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE?

For the K-Pop newbies, Pop Star Academy was this wild Netflix show that followed a bunch of outrageously talented young women competing to be part of KATSEYE, a new global girl group. Think of it as K-Pop boot camp meets Dance Moms.

The whole thing was put together by HYBE (you know, the folks behind BTS) and Geffen Records.

Adéla, our Slovakian queen, was a total standout from the start. She was there from day one, putting in the work and helping out her fellow trainees. Girl had skills for days and was consistently ranking at the top during the training period.

Everyone thought she was a shoo-in for the final lineup, but then things got messy. The show threw a curveball by introducing fan voting, and suddenly, Adéla found herself on the chopping block.

Despite all her talent and hard work, she just didn’t pull in enough votes to stay in the competition. It was a total shock to everyone, and the girls were devastated see her go.

“We didn’t know that it was gonna be a fan-voted competition. If I knew that, I wouldn’t have applied,” she told J-14.

Adéla’s solo music career

Thankfully Adéla’s story doesn’t end there. In fact, it’s just getting started!

“I feel so fucking excited. Ever since the show came out, I’ve been getting so much attention, and when the show ended and during the last couple of months of the show, I knew that that wasn’t the place for me. And I just felt like I needed to find my own path and my own artistry,” she told OUT.

And find her path she did! Adéla’s been busy working with producers and writers to create music that truly represents her. And in her words “Homewrecked,” her debut single, is “so campy and weird and dramatic and way too much,” per OUT. Honestly, we’re here for it!

Check out the lyric video here:

Adéla plans to release a new song a month and hopefully build up a catalog to release an EP. “This is the first one, and it’s only going to get better and bigger.”

How does Adéla feel about the other girls from Pop Star Academy?

Adéla’s keeping her connections to the Academy girlies alive, especially with fan-favourite Emily Kelavos. These two are basically inseparable now.

Adéla gushed to OUT, “Obviously me and Emily, she’s my sister, and we talk every single fucking day. I’m at her place, she’s at mine. We basically live together.”

Emily even choreographed the dance for Adéla’s music video which will be dropping next week!

As for the girls who made it into KATSEYE, Adéla only has good things to say about her fellow trainees. “All of the girls were amazing choices,” she said per J-14.

While we might not see Adéla in KATSEYE, it looks like we’ll be seeing plenty of her in the pop music scene. And honestly, THANK GOD! No seriously, I’ve listened to her song on repeat since it’s been out and will continue to do so the rest of the weekend!
