Sean “Diddy” Combs, the rapper and music mogul, was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on Monday evening after a federal grand jury chose to indict him on a series of charges that are unknown at this time.
Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said his office would move to unseal the indictment on Tuesday morning. Combs is also expected to appear before a federal judge then.
Combs has been facing a federal investigation in addition to a series of civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and sexual abuse, over the last year.
In March, federal agents raided two of the musician’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a sex trafficking investigation.
Marc Agnifilio, a lawyer for Combs, calls the hip-hop artist “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilio said in a statement.
