Tina Arena Set To Join Katy Perry For AFL Grand Final Performance

The name of the Aussie superstar set to perform alongside Katy Perry at the AFL Grand Final has been leaked, and it’s none other than [spoilers] Tina Arena!

Perry has been dropping hints about her mystery Aussie guest star for a couple of days, and now it looks like the Daily Mail has the scoop.

An insider claims Tina Arena has been booked as “a special guest” and has been “quietly planning her setlist over the past week”.

At this stage, it’s not known which songs Arena is planning to sing or if she’ll be performing before the game, during the halftime set, or after the match.

However, the insider spilled that AFL organisers are hoping to echo the success of the 2023 AFL Grand Final, when Robbie Williams and Delta Goodrem performed together.

The original plan was reportedly to have Kylie Minogue as the big Aussie star, but organisers pivoted to Arena when that fell through. Another Aussie singer to take the stage will be Cody Simpson, who is set to sing the national anthem prior to kick-off.

Perry teased her secret Aussie collaboration while on Sunrise this week.

“There’s going to be a surprise performance of a favourite Australian artist that I look up to,” she told the hosts.

“She will be singing a little bit with me, I’ll be singing a little bit with her. I’ve been sworn to secrecy, locked up, chains, all of it.”

The fact she used “Chains” in her lil’ spiel had fans screaming, because as we all know, that’s the name of one of Arena’s biggest hits.

The 143 singer gave another hint on The Project and revealed her special AFL Grand Final guest was a Scorpio. Arena just happens to be a Scorpio as she was born on 1 November, 1967! So this aligns perfectly with all the other intel we have.

Perry is set to perform five hits as part of her epic AFL Grand Final performance, and according to the Herald Sun, she’ll pocket a cool $5 million. Just a casual 1 millie per song, no big deal!

No wonder the AFL wanted Perry to stick to her big hits.
