Al-Azhar Al-Sharif enjoys a high status on the Asian continent and maintains close historical relations with Malaysia and Turkey

Mohamed Tariq Sufyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Malaysia, Mr. Hayati, Consul of Turkey, and Mr. Ibrahim Aslan, Educational Advisor to Turkey, visited Al-Azhar Mosque today, Friday, and were received by Dr. Hani Odeh, Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque, and Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tabbakh, Director of the Technical Office. At Al-Azhar Mosque, and Dr. Mustafa Shishi, Director of the Department of Corridor Affairs at Al-Azhar Mosque.

 

During the visit, Dr. Hani Odeh accompanied the delegation on an inspection tour of the landmarks of Al-Azhar Mosque, during which they listened to a detailed explanation. About the history of Al-Azhar Mosque, the Mecca of knowledge and scholars, and whose corridors embraced students of knowledge from all over the world, especially the state of Malaysia, for which a corridor was allocated in Al-Azhar Mosque, called “The Corridor of the People of Java”, in which the mosque received  Al-Azhar students coming to study there from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Asian countries.

 

Dr. also reviewed. Hani Odeh, the role of Al-Azhar Mosque and its distinguished position in spreading Islamic and Arabic sciences, through its galleries spread throughout all governorates of the Republic.

He also highlighted the specific scientific program for foreign students, which began three months ago by teaching the specializations of the Arabic language and modern sciences. And the sciences of interpretation of the Qur’an, doctrine, and Shafi’i jurisprudence, and more than five thousand international students are enrolled in it.

During a comprehensive tour of the corridors of Al-Azhar Mosque, the Turkish Consul and the Education Advisor in Turkey expressed their admiration for the unique architectural landmarks and Islamic decorations that distinguish Al-Azhar Mosque. One of the most prominent stops of the visit was the Turks Gallery – the headquarters of the main Fatwa Committee now, which was considered a private gallery  With Turkish students, they receive knowledge there in the past.

 

Hayati stressed Al-Azhar’s pivotal role as a beacon of knowledge and wisdom in the Islamic world, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity they had to visit this institution. The great edifice.

For his part, the Malaysian ambassador stressed that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif enjoys a high status on the Asian continent, especially among the peoples of the southeast of the continent, of which Malaysia is the forefront. Al-Azhar maintains close historical relations with Malaysia, as the Malaysians are keen to Sending their children to study at Al-Azhar Mosque, so that they can return to their country carrying the torches of the light of centrism and moderation.   Sufyan also expressed his appreciation to His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, for supporting the expatriates and his efforts and harnessing all resources to serve foreign students in general and Malaysian students in particular, thanking the Director of Al-Azhar Mosque for the warm reception and good reception.
