Al-Azhar Alumni opens the conference on “Shared Values ​​between Islam and Christianity” in cooperation with the Franciscan Cultural Center

Today, Professor Dr. Abbas Shoman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Organization of Al-Azhar Graduates, Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, opened the conference: “Shared Values ​​between Islam and Christianity,” which the organization holds through the “Ambassadors of Al-Azhar” project, in cooperation with The Franciscan Cultural Center for Coptic Studies. 

The opening was attended by: Father Murad Mojala, Regional President of the Franciscan Friars, Dr. Hamdallah Al-Safti, Director of Scientific and Cultural Affairs at the organization, General Supervisor of the Al-Azhar Ambassadors Project, and Dr. Milad Shehata, Director of the Center. Coptic Franciscan Cultural Foundation.

Father Murad Mojla stressed the necessity of intellectual rapprochement in joint work, to build society and the Egyptian person to be properly built, by paying attention to correct education and social work in various aspects, in a way that serves the nation and works to elevate it.

The first conference research was delivered by: Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Bayoumi, former Dean of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion in Zagazig, on: The concept of values ​​between Christianity and Islam, and he explained that the source of values ​​is God Almighty, and looking at the source, Christianity and Islam shared In considering the importance of values, and at the same time they agreed to confront atheism in its various forms. 

The second of the conference’s papers, Professor Dr. Nader Al-Alfy, a professor at Sadat University, presented the topic: Values ​​and virtues in Christian art, and pointed out Some virtues, such as love, peace, self-control, and honor.

At the conclusion of the opening session, Professor Dr. Abbas Shoman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Organization of Al-Azhar Graduates, Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, presented the organization’s shield to the following: Father Murad Majla, and Father Milad Shehata, in appreciation of the fruitful cooperation with the organization, through the Al-Azhar Ambassadors Project.
