McDonald’s launches ‘Happy Meal for adults’ but you’ll have to be quick to get your hands on it – and people have some complaints about the deal
McDonald’s launched a new meal deal in the UK earlier this month, and people have branded it the ‘adult’ version of a happy meal – but they have a few complaints about it.
The deal, which costs £5, has been available since October 9, offers diners a few options so they are able to customise the offering to suit them.
Included in the price tag, is a cheeseburger or a mayo chicken sandwich, plus a medium drink, fries and four chicken nuggets.
Alternatively, the fries can be swapped out for a fruit bag with apple slices and grapes, side salad, or cucumber sticks.
McDonald’s currently does not sell four chicken nuggets separately on the menu and they are currently only available in a Happy Meal.

The fast food giant only sells packets of six individually, which usually cost around £4.19.
However, this price can depend on what restaurant you are buying them from, as some are owned by different franchisees, and are costed differently have different.
A cheeseburger alone usually costs £1.39, the same as a mayo chicken sandwich.
A medium soft drink is £1.59, medium fries are £1.69 and four chicken McNuggets costs £2.79 (based on a pro-rata of the price for six Chicken McNuggets).
Buying these items individually would cost around £7.46, meaning customers opting for the deal will save £2.46.
However, not everyone is delighted about the offer, with some people complaining about some of the finer details.
It’s now available in a number branches, with customers able to order it from 11am – after breakfast is finished.
Not all restaurants are running the promotion, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to get the food at a discounted price.

Diners cannot order the offer for delivery – they can only take advantage of the saving if they go into an outlet and in person.
In addition to, some outlets have reported that the order will only be available for a limited time frame.
According to the Express, there is one further issue some customers have with ‘adult meal deal’.
It cites a couple of social media users who were unhappy with something they felt was missing from the discount meal.
One cheekily wrote: ‘Adult Happy Meals should come with an adult toy…up your game.’
Meanwhile another added: ‘Not a Happy Meal without a toy though.’
MailOnline has asked McDonald’s whether this deal is permanent or for a limited time only.
Despite the fast food chain disappointing some fans over the finer details of its meal deal, the corporation delighted other with another announcement.
It revealed that that an old popular item will be returning to the menu for a limited time this month.
The popular McRib will make its grand return on October 16, almost 10 years after it vanished from the restaurant.
It features a pork patty topped with barbecue sauce, pickles, and onions in a soft bun.
The McRib was removed from McDonald’s UK offerings around a decade ago.
This was despite having cult following since its debut in 1981.
In recent weeks, McDonald’s had been teasing the return of the much-loved item.
Its hints have sparked speculation and even frenzy among major fans of the sandwich across social media.
The sandwich will be priced at the £4.49 if bought by itself, without a drink, fries, or any other sides.
If purchased as part of a medium extra value meal, it will cost £6.19. This option includes medium fries and a drink.
The reappearance of the McRib comes after what McDonald’s has described as years of ‘fan petitions and countless social media pleas’.
