Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones walked away from a major car accident in May without injury, which he was able to avoid despite not wearing a seat belt.

According to the police video obtained by TMZ, Jones admitted to multiple officers that he was not wearing a belt when he boned a Hyundai in Dallas on May 4. Jones later told police that the belt was fastened, but behind his back and not being worn properly.

Jones said he was traveling about 75 mph at the time of the wreckage and that his airbags were deployed in his 2013 Lexus sedan.

The owner of the Cowboys went to the hospital, according to his son, but he said he only suffered minor injuries. Jones told police at the hospital that he had a “head thrust, chest thrust (and) knee thrust” but that he was “now no longer in pain.”

Neither driver was seriously injured in the incident, with a relieved Jones saying, “I’m so glad he wasn’t injured.”

Dashcam footage of another driver waiting at a red light was captured at the time of the crash.

The Hyundai seems to miss the left turn it was supposed to make, braked quickly and took a long, slow turn from what appears to be the middle or right lane of the road.

Jones’ sedan then sees the car coming late and rips the Hyundai over.

The Hyundai was lifted off the road, turned nearly 360 degrees sideways and came to a stop in front of oncoming traffic.

The footage then moves to the parking lot of a Hyatt House hotel just past the intersection, where Jones can be seen talking to witnesses and the driver of the silver car.

Both drivers appeared unharmed, although Jones was seen limping slightly and lifting his left trouser leg to examine himself.

The driver of the silver sedan was seen placing his hand on his heart and his head in his hands, although he appears to be physically unharmed.

The police video showed Jones telling police, “He just pushed. He just dived right in front of me.’

Police acquitted Jones of all wrongdoing in the case and asked Jones to “put that seat belt on the right way.”
