Čađenović suspected of being a member of the Kavac clan: The Special State Prosecutor of Montenegro was ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours

The arrested special state prosecutor Saša Čađenović was ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours, after a hearing at the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, where he denied the criminal acts charged against him.
Čađenović was arrested this morning on the order of the SDT, on suspicion of creating a criminal organization in the position he held and for several criminal offenses of abuse of official position. He was questioned in the presence of his defense counsel, lawyer Lazar Aković.
Aković told Podgorica Vijesti that Čađenović “categorically denied the commission of the criminal acts he is accused of” in front of the prosecutor.
“After I get acquainted with the decision within the legal deadline, I will file an appeal,” said lawyer Aković. He added that due to the smooth conduct of the proceedings, he could not talk about the details of the hearing. He also pointed out that Čađenović presented his defense in detail.
The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SST) charges the special state prosecutor Saša Čađenović with the fact that in the period from mid-2020 to this year, he became a member of the criminal organization “Kavački Klan”, with the role and tasks of being a special prosecutor in this prosecutor’s office, and according to the instructions and the orders of the organizers, does not undertake criminal prosecution and does not initiate criminal proceedings against the organizers and members of the criminal organization.
