Lekić: Đukanović has to nominate someone for the mandate, there are intense discussions about the new government

The government could have been formed without amending the Law on the President and it is not too late to do it according to the normal procedure, said today the president of Demos, Miodrag Lekić, who was nominated by the parliamentary majority for the mandate.
Lekić told Nova M television that the parliamentary majority wants President Milo Đukanović to organize a new round of consultations and propose a representative, adding that amendments to the Law on the President are a last resort. “I strive for legality and I expect Đukanović to appoint a representative,” said Lekić, reports RTCG.
He stated that there are intense discussions about the government within the parliamentary majority. “This would be the first government that would be an expression of the people’s will from two years ago and the first with full legitimacy,” Lekić pointed out. He added that he does not expect any problems regarding the formation of the government and the division of departments.
“After two years of wandering, the parliamentary majority has learned its lessons. The government should be formed based on the election results and everyone will respect that,” said Lekić.
