The largest free-standing aquarium in the world exploded: a million liters of water and 1,500 fish were scattered

In the center of Berlin, the largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium in the world exploded this morning, where there were about 1,500 exotic fish, most of them dead, and two people were injured by pieces of glass, the emergency services announced.
According to the fire brigade and the police, the causes of the bursting of the large aquarium are not clear.
The Berlin police announced on Twitter that the damage was enormous. The 14-meter-high aquarium was located in a complex that also houses the Radisson Hotel, a museum, shops and restaurants.
Emergency services closed the main road next to the complex leading from Alexanderplatz to the Brandenburg Gate due to the large amount of water that spilled from the aquarium, and the road as well as the sidewalks outside the complex were littered with shards of glass, Reuters reported.
Buses were sent to the complex to ensure hotel guests left the building, while the temperature in Berlin was around minus seven degrees, police said on Twitter.
