Sweden’s EU presidency will be key to maintaining unity in support of Ukraine

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that Sweden’s presidency of the European Union will be of key importance in preserving the unity of the EU in support of Ukraine.

She wrote on Twitter that Sweden took over the presidency of the EU Council at a crucial moment.

“You can count on me to stand up for your ambitious goals for our Union,” Von der Leyen stated.

As of midnight, Sweden took over the presidency of the EU Council from the Czech Republic.
