The podcast of El Periódico: The gazpacho culé with the arbitration dome

The El Periódico podcast today analyzes this Barcelona earthquake, unique in history, when it was demonstrated -as a result of a first piece of news from SER Catalunya- the existence of different club contracts with a company owned by the Vice President of the Referees Committee, in exchange for some reports.

We analyzed it with Marcos López, Emilio Pérez de Rozas, Albert Guasch and the former international referee Alfonso Pérez Burrull.

The investigation began from a tax inspection of the company for the 1.4 million paid by Barça between 2016 and 2018, years in which Josep Maria Bartomeu was president of the Barça club. But the reality is that these payments allegedly began much earlier, in 2001, and were maintained by all the leaders since then until in 2018 Bartomeu ended the practice due to a policy of cutting expenses, as he explained yesterday to EL PERIÓDICO.

But according to ‘El País’, the amounts received by the arbitration leader increased notably during the last stage of laporta at the helm of Barça, in his first term (specifically in the 2009-2010 season), when around half a million euros left the club’s coffers.
