Arab Defense Website November 5, 2024: Reports indicate escalating tensions between Israel and Iran as a result of the activity of pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, which are allegedly increasingly attacking Israel via drones and other weapons. And just a report “The Times of Israel,” Israel has identified targets in Iraq that it may strike if these attacks continue.
Unidentified officials reported that satellites monitored attempts to transfer ballistic missiles and other equipment from Iran to Iraq, which are believed to be used in an imminent attack on Israel. Israel has issued a warning to Baghdad of the need to curb these militias and prevent them from using Iraqi territory to launch attacks against them.
In recent weeks, drone attacks from Iraq have increased, with about five attacks a day recorded from armed groups linked to Iran. During the past week, eight drones were launched within a period of only 24 hours, and American forces and their partners succeeded in intercepting these attacks.
