Jeremy Howe suffered a serious injury during Collingwood’s clash with Geelong, amid reports the Pies star broke his arm in a sickening collision.
The defender contested an aerial ball in his forward 50 when he ran into his opposite number, somersaulted forwards and landed heavily on his arm and head. The Age reports that he broke his arm as a result.
A stretcher was immediately called onto the MCG turf and he was carted off, but not before his Collingwood teammates rallied around him in a touching show of support.
An ambulance was seen pulling into the MCG with Channel 7 reporting that he is on his way to the hospital. He was later seen chatting with his partner while sat on a stretcher in the locker room.
It was a feisty affair on Friday night with both sets of players coming to blows at the quarter time break. But Collingwood managed to rally and see out a huge 125-103 victory to get their 2023 campaign off to a flyer.
