Inside billionaire John Caudwell’s £80M megayacht: The mighty Titania includes personalised spas, five state-the art en-suite bedrooms and a Michelin star chef… chartered to wealthy tycoons for £600,000 a week

One of the world’s most elite superyachts features massage rooms, a glass lift, and a Michelin-trained chef – just for a start.

In a new Channel 4 documentary airing on Monday at 8pm, viewers got an exclusive look into the luxurious Titania – owned by billionaire John Caudwell, founder of Phones4u.

The £80 million, 73-metre long vessel, named after the Queen of the Fairies from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, is ‘the epitome of super rich sailing’, boasting six decks, rich woods, opulent fabrics – and of course, panoramic views of Monaco.

Two state-of-the-art owner rooms are also included – one of which comes with a ‘private health salon’ and its own lounge.

However, while John is the owner of the mighty boat – he is only able to visit it once or twice a year.

During other periods, wealthy VIPs (the boat can host 12, with five en-suite guest rooms) wanting to bask in the stunning Côte d’Azur are able to charter it out for a whopping £600,000 a week.

During the programme, John, 73, his long term partner Modesta Vžesniauskaitė, 42, and their children were catered to by the Titania’s impressive 21-strong crew, who provide personalised service unlike any other.

To truly make the experience special, every small detail is thought out, from putting up family photos to getting flowers delivered for those on board.

‘What boating is all about for me is getting all my friends together in an unbelievably luxurious environment,’ John said.

‘The crew are really exceptional; they can deliver that seven-star experience for the people that charter the boat.’

It also includes a first-class service from Michelin-trained head chef Tom, who had been cooking professionally for nearly ten years.

Speaking in the programme, he explained that catering to boat clients often means needing to meet extremely high standards – sometimes, at very short notice.

His team also aims to provide freshly sourced ingredients for everything; be it the finest caviar or the fizziest bottle of Champagne.

The Titania also includes a gym, which John enjoys taking full advantage of.

‘We’ve got gym instructors, Pilates instructors, beauticians,’ he listed. ‘Anything that anyone could want that gives them the most spectacular living imaginable.’

There are nine first-class dining and lounge areas, but of special renown is the main salon, which includes a £100,000 Steinway grand piano.

‘This is where often we have musicians perform for us,’ John added. ‘They’re not brought in musicians – they’re often friends like Robbie Williams.’

While John is rarely able to bask in the spoils of his own vessel, he is very involved in ensuring it always offers the best service - recently splurging more than £10 million on refurbishments. Pictured, one of the owner rooms

And to help guests make the most of boat life, there is even a beach club at the back of the yacht, which features £200,000 worth of watersports equipment, including jet skis.

‘Today is a very rare opportunity to be aboard the yacht because it doesn’t happen anywhere near as much as I would like it to,’ John said.

‘I love it. I love the fact that the crew are so great, I love the food, I love everything about it.

‘I don’t seek luxury weirdly… I seek perfection, I seek quality. This is quality… because of the service and the fact that there is every facility you could ever dream of.’

And it shows; the megayacht is the ‘most successful charter in its category’.

‘I’m always looking at the perfection of how the boat runs,’ he shared. ‘I pay real attention to detail into everything each crew member does.’

Renting it out to wealthy clients, he said, is how he hopes to also fund his philanthropy work.

‘My pledge is to leave 70 per cent of my wealth to charity during or after my lifetime,’ John explained.

‘I will help lots of different charities but children are a real focal point because they haven’t had a proper start in life.’
