A German grant worth two million euros to support the Lebanese army

The Commander of the Lebanese Army, General Joseph Aoun, and the German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt Georg Stöckel-Stielfried, signed an agreement under which the German authorities would provide a grant worth two million euros to support the army, with one million euros being allocated to secure fuel and one million euros to support treatment.

This grant comes as an addition to a similar grant previously provided.

General Aoun considered this assistance extremely important in light of the current exceptional circumstances, expressing his appreciation to the German authorities for standing by the military establishment.

The German ambassador stressed that his country is committed to supporting the army in various ways, given the vital tasks it undertakes.
