
Netflix’s latest Duffer brothers-produced series, The Boroughscreated by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, follows in the footsteps of Stranger Things with its story format as well as its soundtrack full of recognizable artists from the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Nora Felder, who helmed music supervision for Stranger Thingsalso wrangled the needledrops for The Boroughs.
David Bowie’s “Golden Years,” which plays in the trailer for the mystery set in a retirement community, kicks off the first episode, which also contains songs from Bruce Springsteen, Earth, Wind & Fire and Bob Seger. Etta James, Lauryn Hill, Tina Turner, Johnny Cash, Bill Withers and even Stranger Things alum Djo (Joe Keery) are featured throughout the show, which follows a group of residents in the titular residence community investigating a lurking threat preying on them.
