Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul – Tale of the Tape: How does Brit’s net worth, car collection, HUGE size advantage and boxing pedigree compare with controversial American ahead of £140m Miami mismatch

The Miami mismatch – perhaps that should be the tag line on the posters promoting this circus act of a fight.

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul, as reported exclusively by Daily Mail Sport’s Riath Al-Samarrai, are closing on a deal with a prize pot of £140m set to be split down the middle next month.

An athletic YouTuber, who turned his parlor trick of beating up old or mismatched athletes into a money-spinning empire, now looks likely to lace them up with one of the best heavyweights of his generation.

Netflix are waiting in the wings to add legitimacy and eyeballs to what would be an absurd leap up for Paul in a beating Eddie Hearn says he’d be ‘mad’ to take.

But Paul is proof that ultimately in fight sports, the characters involved and entertainment factor – even if it elicits disgust from the purists – holds enormous weight.

So, just how stark is the contrast between Joshua and Paul? Here, we compare the protagonists both inside and outside the ring.

Paul is shorter and lighter than the Brit

Joshua carries a height, weight and reach advantage over Paul as well as vast experience

Size

AJ, 36, stands at 6ft 6in, while Paul, 28, is five inches shorter at 6ft 1in.

Some have questioned the official height given for Paul and suggested he is actually closer to 5ft 11.

AJ’s reach is 82 inches, significantly longer than the 76 inches of his prospective opponent.

The Brit has a massive weight advantage, fighting at more than 113kg in his last five contests, in contrast to the American has only fought at heavyweight once.

That was in his grim spectacle against 58-year-old Mike Tyson, where he tipped the scales at 103kg.

So even at his heaviest, Paul would still be giving up around 10kg to the Brit in addition to the height and reach differences.

The lightest AJ has ever been for a fight was 104kg in 2013, which is still heavier than Paul has ever been.

Net worth

Last year, Forbes reported that Joshua’s net worth was £64m but he dropped off their 2025 top 50 global sports earners after his heavy loss to Daniel Dubois.

But the British heavyweight remains one of the wealthiest athletes in the UK.

According to the Sunday Times Rich List, his net worth is now £238m, an £18m increase from 2024.

Meanwhile, there are varying reports on Paul’s net worth, which is harder to accurately estimate given the disparate strands of revenue in his career.

Last year alone he made £36m and has banked £76m from his boxing exploits alone and Forbes estimated his earnings by 2022 to be £34m prior to his most lucrative fights and based on his career as a content creator.

Based on these numbers it seems likely Paul’s net worth is in the region of £120-150m, though the pair could be said to be trending in opposite directions.

Partners

Although he is one of the most successful and famous British sporting figures over the past decade, Joshua is believed to be single.

His private life has generally been kept relatively quiet during his career, although he does have a son named Joseph ‘JJ’ Joshua, who was born in 2015.

The mother of Joshua’s child is dance and yoga teacher, Nicole Osbourne, with the pair previously in a relationship, but they do remain on good terms.

In a previous interview, Joshua reflected on his role as a father and joked he was too soft.

‘I started off as super-dad and then that slowly went out the window and to be honest he’s watching way too much TV now,’ he said.

Speaking on his relationship status, he also said: ‘Not everyone likes the decisions I make but I’ve got to make my own decisions. Decisions I make impact others. And my time training means there is not much time for girlfriends either.’

Last year, AJ was said to be dating British hairdresser and influencer Kika Osunde.

After his triumph over Francis Ngannou he looked thrilled when he spotted Kika in the crowd, running over to the social media star, 37, and gave her a hug before she then planted a kiss on his cheek.

Days later, Kika posted a video on her Snapchat showing her arms wrapped around Anthony as they enjoyed some quad biking around sand dunes in Dubai.

Despite the pair’s closeness, it now appears as though AJ is single and always prefers to keep his private life out of the public eye.

Paul’s fiancee is a decorated athlete in her own right – the speed skating Olympic medalist Jutta Leerdam.

Born in the Netherlands, Leerdam’s achievements on the ice have opened many doors for her. She has followed in the footsteps of her boyfriend in becoming somewhat of a social media sensation.

The 26-year-old, who has been branded the ‘world’s hottest speed skater’ by Dutch media, has amassed over four-and-a-half million Instagram followers after regularly posting snaps of herself competing, living her extroverted life with Paul or showing off her glamorous getaways.

As a speed skater, Leerdam specializes in sprint events and holds the current world record for the 1000m race with a time of one minute and 13.15 seconds.

Paul and Leerdam’s relationship first became public knowledge in March 2023, when they were seen on a date in Miami, Florida.

‘She’s one of the most pure-hearted human beings that I have met in my life,’ Paul told his YouTube channel in April 2023. ‘[She’s] so genuine and she has just changed my perspective and helped me coming out of this loss (to Tommy Fury) when I was in a dark place.’

He has previously been engaged twice with social media stars Tana Mongeau and Julia Rose.

Boxing pedigree

The most important and obviously lopsided category on this list.

What started as a bit of a circus trick with Jake Paul beating up NBA players and old MMA fighters in the ring did, in fairness, gain legitimacy as time went on.

But in terms of boxing skill, credibility and experience, the former Youtuber is on a different planet to Joshua.

AJ, despite his defeat by Dubois 14 months ago, is two-time heavyweight world champion and Olympic gold medal winner.

He’s shared a ring with some of the all-time greats, famously knocking out Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley in 2017.

Of course we know Oleksandr Usyk got the better of the Brit in 2021 and 2022 and there was the disastrous night against Andy Ruiz in New York.

But these fights are still so many levels above Paul, who lost to Tommy Fury.

Paul beat a 58-year-old Mike Tyson last year on points in their highly-controversial exhibition but to go from that, and a points win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, to fighting Joshua is a ridiculous leap.

AJ has 32 professional heavyweight fights, winning 25 by KO and losing four times against top operators.

The only real boxers Paul has faced were Fury and Chavez Jr, neither of which were at heavyweight.

Paul is shooting for the stars with this dangerous mismatch. It will bring both men great riches but there is also a dreadful risk of the American being badly hurt.

Cars

Joshua’s garage is believed to be worth around £1m and includes a £150k Range Rover SVO – which was custom made with his name inscribed in the tread plates – and a £93k white Jaguar XJR.

This is one of his favourite cars that he treasures so dearly – because it makes him stand out.

He also owns a £600k Rolls Royce Phantom stretch, £146k Mercedes v8 BiTurbo and Audi A3 S-Line.

Paul arguably owns the flashier vehicles of the pair, boasting a £165k blue Lamborghini Huracan, £330k Ferrari 296 GT, £600k SF90 Spider and a 1958 Ford Fairlane, which can cost up to £70k.

Like AJ, he also has a Rolls Royce, though his model is a white Phantom worth £360k rather than the stretch version.

For his off-road needs he has a £40k Toyota Tacoma and a Dodge RAM truck of the same amount, while also packing out the garage with an £80k Tesla Model X and even a £22k Ford Focus.

Property

For a long time Joshua still lived with his mum as he wants to spend as much time as possible with her in a £175,000 Watford council house.

In 2017 he reportedly purchased a six-bedroom house for himself nearby.

But he’s also waded into the housing market by setting up 258 Investments – which run his property empire for him which is said to include over a dozen properties in his portfolio – including one worth £1m in north London and three in Watford worth a combined of £1.5m.

He rents out a property in St. John’s Wood that costs an eye-watering £20,000-a-week.

AJ has two houses in north London worth £4m and spread his portfolio to commercial opportunities, too.

The biggest outlay in this area of his portfolio was a Bond Street building for £25m.

Paul has not yet spread out his property portfolio as widely as AJ but does boast a remarkable home.

He lives on a ranch in Georgia – a sprawling complex he bought for £29m with some of his winnings from the Tyson fight.

It is a whopping 5,746 acres, including a massive duck pond and hunting fields.

The house itself has eight bedrooms and five bathrooms. Last year, he said: ‘I’ve wanted to buy a ranch for the last 15 years. I wanted a place where I can wakesurf, hunt, and build a racetrack.’

Paul has regularly held boxing training camps in Puerto Rico and also owns a £12m property there.

Sponsorships

AJ has own website where fans can get kitted out in his AJBXING gear – selling boxing gloves, sportswear, hats and fitness accessories.

He has had deals with Jaguar Land Rover, William Hill, Hugo Boss and sports giant Under Armour – who have taken him around the world on their private jet.

His current partners include Suntory, a Japanese beverage giant, DAZN and Lucozade, while his Under Armour and Hugo Boss deals are also still running.

While AJ’s marketability may have decreased in line with his disappointing recent results, he has always been motivated by squeezing the most out of his career that he can financially, describing money as his ‘love language’.

‘Money, money, money,’ Joshua previously said. ‘I like making money. Straight up. This is a prizefighting sport.

‘I’ve been broke. My family has been broke. I know what this s*** means and I do it because I’m good at it and I hustle hard.

‘When it’s all said and done no-one will care about me no more. So, I’ve got to make the most of it while I’m here.’

Paul’s sponsors, unsurprisingly, are more American leaning companies.

Energy drink ‘Celsius’, DraftKings Sportsbook, Au Vodka and boohooMan are all on board.

Like AJ, Paul is also cashing in with his own personal brand. His men’s care company, ‘W’ (which stands for win), is stocked in major US retailers such as Walmart, boosting his business empire even further.
