Bondi Junction shooting arrest: Massive breakthrough in the gangland slaying of Alen Moradian

Two men have been arrested following an investigation into the gangland slaying of Sydney’s Mr Big Alen Moradian.

The cocaine kingpin, 48, was gunned down while sitting in his car in an underground car park in Bondi Junction in around 8.30am on Tuesday 27 June.

Moradian and Sparos were close associates, with the latter reportedly attending Moradian’s funeral in July.

Police will allege Sparos, 42, was the mastermind behind his former associate’s slaying, according to the Daily Telegraph.

At the same time Sparos was taken into custody at Sutherland Police Station, police arrested a 31-year-old man at a property in Moorebank in Sydney’s south west.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he is expected to be charged with murder.

Moradian, whose taste for the finer things in life once saw him spend $1million turning a McMansion in Sydney’s north-west into a suburban palazzo, had been living in fear in the months leading up to his death.

He regularly changed residences and cars to stay one step ahead of hitmen, even staying away from his wife of 15 years to protect her.
