Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons vomited twice in Sunday’s 33-10 away win over the Carolina Panthers, because he ate a pre-workout supplement powder dry, as he reveals feeling like his heart was about to ‘jump out’ of his chest.
The 24-year-old, who’s sponsored by Old Spice, Dave and Busters and Tostitos, only had himself to blame for taking in too much C4 Energy – a powder that is supposed to be mixed in liquid.
It also contains a high dosage of caffeine, which of course, would get anyone jittery if consumed on an empty stomach.
Parsons admitted to having done exactly all of the above in his postgame comments on Sunday.
‘It’s something I’ve never done before,’ he told The Athletic. ‘I took the [scoop] of C4 [dry]. As soon as I took it, I was like, ”this is strong.”

‘I got some water to help put it down. By the fifth play, my heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. I was like, ”Oh my God.” It’s still messing me up.
‘I felt like CO2 was bottled up in my chest, and I was about to explode. Eventually I just started throwing up. It was all coming out and I was like, ”I’m never doing that s*** again.”
‘It’s supposed to get you hype. I definitely felt the difference. I just didn’t expect my heart to feel like that. Maybe it was the amount that put me over. It was pretty intense.’
Despite feeling sick during Sunday’s game, Parsons sacked Panthers QB Bryce Young 2.5 times
Despite his stomach issues, Parsons put in a flawless performance against Carolina, recording sick tackles and two-and-a-half sacks on Panthers rookie quarterback, Bryce Young.
Asked if he’d take the C4 powder again without any sort of drink before a game in the future, Parsons jokingly said: ‘I might go half a scoop.’
The Cowboys (7-3) are on a two-game winning streak after Sunday’s win, and will host the Washington Commanders (4-7) next.
They currently occupy a wild card spot in the NFC East, trailing the Philadelphia Eagles (8-1). Both teams will face off once more on December 10 after the Eagles battled it out to a 28-23 win earlier this month.
