Disney on Ice performer is left in critical condition after shocking fall during a lift while she played Belle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’

A Disney on Ice skater is fighting for her life after she fell during a ‘shaky’ lift by another cast member during a rendition of Beauty and the Beast.

Anastasia Olson, 31, the skater who portrayed Belle in the Magic in the Stars program, was injured during Saturday morning’s performance at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Hennepin County Medical Center told DailyMail.com she is in serious condition as of Monday morning.

Footage of the incident showed the actress apparently seizing on the ice while the skater playing the Beast hovered above her and medics rushed to her aid.

‘They were doing a lift, it appeared shaky and she fell,’ audience member Beka told KARE 11. ‘I am beyond grateful and thankful for the remaining staff and the performers who kept going because that preserves the magic for the kids.’

Beka, who brought her two children to the performance, said the cast handled the clearly ‘very difficult’ situation well and made sure to ‘preserve the magic’ for guests.

‘I know that has to have been very difficult,’ she said.

The incident occurred about 40 minutes into the 11am performance, witnesses recalled.

A Disney on Ice spokesperson told the news outlet that it ‘appreciates the well wishes from our fans as our team member recovers’.

Prior to the incident, local newspaper Novi Note spoke with the Michigan native about her performance as Belle in the Magic in the Stars show.

‘Our show, “Magic in the Stars,” is really a wonderful kind of show that reaches out to everybody, not just kids and families, but I feel that there is something for everyone to see. It really is a wonderful show,’ said Olson.

‘It is such a fulfilling kind of feeling. It’s not that I didn’t have it when I competed, by any means, but it really puts a smile on my face to see a child so happy and loving the show so much.’
