Entrepreneur and founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, shared a meme on his Twitter account that has become the most popular tweet of 2023. Surpassing the likes and retweets of a photo of singer Rihanna’s child.
The meme features a picture of a man smoking a cigarette and observing a crowd of people. The caption reads, “People who have Twitter but never tweet.” As of July 4th, Musk’s tweet has garnered over 1.5 million likes, more than 128,000 retweets, and over 78 million views. Musk published this meme on June 18th, and it has since sparked significant interest among Twitter users. Many have noted that they themselves fall into the category of passive readers on the social media platform.
The second most popular tweet on Twitter is a photograph of Rihanna’s son, named RZA Atelston Meyers, which she unveiled in a photoshoot for Vogue magazine. This post has received over 1.3 million likes, 47 million views, and more than 86,000 retweets.
The third most popular tweet on Twitter is another post by Elon Musk, featuring his dog named Floki. In this tweet, Musk jokingly referred to the dog as the new CEO of Twitter back in February of this year. The post garnered 1.2 million likes, 139 million views, and over 89,000 retweets.
